Inside the beautiful Esplanade, dim light with jazz-Latin-classical ambience music, the full-size rectangular bar in the middle, colorful liquors pleasing your eyes and alluring your passion to taste them all, Harry’s Bar offers you classic atmosphere of bar…
Hahaha… heck, how could I give any comment? This is the first time I allow myself to step into a bar and have some luxuries enjoying a nite with a good friend and alcohol!
Baileys Irish Cream was the first choice. Ever since I’ve tried it during Cambodia trip, I am pretty sure that this is the only alcohol I could ever drink. I am not even a fan of Coke, my first experience savoring a zip of vodka, whisky, and martini, convinced me that I am not built to appreciate alcohol at all… well… maybe except Cointreau with its orange aroma and sweet fresh yet vinegary lime taste. However, I have found that an oz of Cointreau in the rocks is still too strong for me…
Baileys is sweet, more likely like drinking coffee milk with rum, Irish whisky to be précised mixed with cream. You can smell the almond aroma with its alcohol sensation. Feels like, I could drink all in just one guzzle!!!
Second drink was a strawberry frozen margarita, served in a glass with salt surrounding its rim. Margarita is a tequila-based cocktail with Triple Sec or Cointreau and lime juice. It was offered in three optional favor, strawberry, lime, and mango. Btw, margarita is the Latin word for pearl and Spanish for the daisy. (source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Margarita)
Still Got the Blues, was the third option. I do not really remember the combination, but I am pretty sure that it has cranberry juice inside. I could not resist its glowing blue color and when you mix it becomes amethyst purple crystal color! Its taste marvelous too!!!
Three more drinks that I’ve tried, Bloody Mary, which according to me has a bloody taste!!! It is containing vodka, tomato juice, spices like Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco, beef consommé or bouillon, horseradish, celery, slat, black pepper, cayenne pepper and lemon juice. (I remember I saw the bartender put Tabasco sauce and I am sure he was combining with a tomato sauce NOT a tomato juice… anyway… I might be a little tipsy then ;p). Its red color made me wonder would it have a “brave” taste… and it does!!! Though… not in the way that I like. For me it is more like drinking a pasta sauce with ice!!!
Long Island cocktail was much better than Bloody Mary. Vodka, gin, tequila, rum, triple sec, and splash of cola will rumble your tongue. It is like a calm waves in the ocean, you just have to surrender to the flow and let it take you further away to the water. Screwdriver is merely an orange-lime juice with vodka inside. It is a good option after having “a heavier” one, like relaxing after sport ;p. Fresh and enjoyable!
A Jazzy Friday Night… with nice liqueurs and a good friend who doesn’t mind listening to you, no matter how you are giggling without any reason or cribbing about life… a time to exhale and saying I am lucky to be here…
